BBC Skillswise Newsletter June 2010
|
Posted: 09 June 2010 In this month's newsletter the Skillswise team get out and about and meet adult learners around the country, news on the BBC sponsored Digital Participation Award, an update from the popular Bang Goes the Theory roadshow, a survey from Skillswise and another from BBC Learning. Last month we asked you for feedback on the Skillswise website, we now have an online survey which you can fill in and shouldn't take longer than ten minutes. The purpose of the survey is to find out which online learning and teaching resources teachers and students use in the classroom or at home, how they use them and what new resources would be most useful. We are very grateful for your help, the answers and comments you give us will help to improve the Skillswise website which will have new content added to it over the coming months. Meet the Skillswise team At Skillswise HQ we are currently working on new resources for the Skillswise website. The Skillswise team is 'on tour' meeting tutors and learners, user-testing new ideas and finding out how you use the website. The feedback we receive from users is important as it influences the way we shape our content. We want to continue producing resources which are specifically relevant to our users. Many thanks to Tim from The Friends Centre in Brighton, Kate from Blackburn College for hosting a couple of our recent sessions, and Irene at the Learning Centre in Barking's refuse depot. We really enjoyed working with you, listening to your ideas and demonstrating ideas for BBC Skillswise content. Special thanks to the group in Brighton for coming up with the name for our new interactive football game! Bang Goes the Theory are on the road 50,000 people have already come along to get hands-on with science, and the next stop will be the See Further Festival of Science + Arts on London's Southbank from 25-27th June for future tour dates and more information, as well as hands-on science that you can do at home. Check out www.bbc.co.uk/bang for more information and future tour dates, as well as hands-on science that you can do at home. The survey will take between 3 and 5 minutes to complete and the information collected will only be used by the BBC to improve its services. We'd like to thank you for your help and we hope you continue to enjoy learning with us. |
